A letter from Principal Macchi

Updated: Aug 31, 2020

" I wanted to take this opportunity to express what an honor and a privilege it is to be the next principal of the Perry School. "

Dear Perry K-8 School Community,

I hope you are doing well during these challenging times. I wanted to take this opportunity to express what an honor and a privilege it is to be the next principal of the Perry School.

The work we have done to provide equitable learning opportunities for all of our students, expand community partnerships and build a strong relationship between the school and your home will continue to be a priority moving forward. I want to thank the hiring committee, an admirable representation of the staff, families and district leadership that play an integral role in the continued success of the Perry, for their confidence in me as a school leader. Lastly, I want to recognize my mentor and current principal Geoff Rose for his commitment and dedication over the last six years transforming the Perry into the excellent learning environment that it is today.

The transition back to the Perry School in September will be more important than ever. As we continue our remote learning over the next several months, I will be virtually meeting with students, families, staff, community partners and district leadership to better understand the bright spots and the needs of our school community. I look forward to communicating the feedback and next steps that arise for the school as a result of this collaboration.

Once again, thank you. I look forward to working with you all to continue to build an equitable and inclusive learning environment for all of our students!

Sincerely,

Michael Macchi
