This spring, the Perry School, in collaboration with South Boston’s Paraclete, will be offering before-school test prep programs for students in 4th to 6th grade. The Perry is fortunate to have a community partner that wants to help students achieve success. AmeriCorps teachers will work closely with 4th graders to prepare for the MCAS exam. They will also work with 5th and 6th graders to prepare for the ISEE in the fall. The goal is for both programs to expose students to the appropriate test, give them strategies, strengthen their test-taking skills, and decrease their test anxiety. This is the first time a program like this has been offered at the Perry. A big “Thank You” to Molly Zollo, the principal at the Paraclete, Claire Quinlan, and Mr. Macchi for making this opportunity possible for the children at the Perry. Information and permission slips will be given out to students in January.
