We have heard from families across Boston that they would like to transfer or give the Pandemic EBT funds to other families who may need it more. The card is nontransferable, and if you don't use it, the money will eventually expire. This money is from the federal government, so when it does expire, it does not go into the BPS budget, or a City of Boston budget, or even a state budget. It goes back to the federal government.
Our suggestion is that if you feel that your family does not need or want this money, please do not throw away the card or let it expire.
- Donate the same value as your EBT card to the Greater Boston Food Bank
, Project Bread
, South Boston Neighborhood House
or another local charity that helps put food on the table of Boston families.
- Donate to Friends of the Perry by using the button below. All money donated will be allocated for families in need in our Perry community. You can also email
